Falling Walls Lab is a world-class pitch competition, networking forum, and stepping stone that brings together a diverse and interdisciplinary pool of students, researchers, and early-career professionals by providing a stage for breakthrough ideas both globally and locally.

Each year from March to October, renowned academic institutions around the world host local Falling Walls Labs to showcase the quality, diversity, and passion of their region’s most innovative minds. The winners qualify for the global finale on November 7 in Berlin and wins a ticket to attend the Falling Walls Science Summit, where they get to interact with the world’s movers and shakers of science, business, and policymaking.

Since 2020 HEiKA is co-hosting a Lab every year in Heidelberg, in Karlsruhe and other cities in Baden-Württemberg.

Falling Walls Lab Baden-Württemberg is jointly organized by KIT and Wissensfabrik e.V. and supported by Heidelberg University, Stuttgart University and HEiKA. It took place on 17 June 2023 at KIT as part of the Open Day.
