HEiKA Board of Directors elects new Executive Directors

HEiKA Research Bridges: Prof. Dr. Dr. Rafaela Hillerbrand (KIT) is the new Executive Director and Prof. Dr. Ulrike Attenberger the new Deputy Executive Director (Uni HD) for the next two years starting January 2019.

HEiKA Research Bridges is led by a Board of Directors, in which each research bridge is equally represented by two scientists - one from the KIT and the other from the Heidelberg University. In addition, since 2016, two representatives of young academics have been appointed as advisory members of the Board.

The Board of Directors is represented by an Executive Director and his/her Deputy for a two-year term.

 

 

Executive Director from 2019

Rafaela Hillerbrand is a professor for philosophy of science and technology at the Insitute of Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS, KIT).  Rafaela Hillerbrand holds a PhD in theoretical physics and a PhD in philosophy and joint the KIT in 2015. Her main areas of scientific work includes the philosophy of science, engineering and technology, applied ethics esp. of the environment and ethics in engineering, risk and uncertainty analysis and philosophy of computer simulations.

 

Prof. Hillerbrand joint the HEiKA Board of Directors in July 2016 as a director for the research bridge HEiKAexplore.

 

Deputy Executive Director from 2019

 

Ulrike Attenberger is a professor at the Institute of Clinical Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at the Medical Faculty Mannheim of Heidelberg University. She is in the lead of the institutes functional area Prevenitve Imaging, dedicated to the development, evaluation and clinical implementation of imaging techniques for the detection and quantification of early pathological changes.

 

Prof. Attenberger also joint the HEiKA Board of Directors in July 2016 as a director for the research bridge Medical Technology for Health (MTH).
