Together with the Helmholtz Initiative on Synthetic Biology and other partners HEiKA is co-organizing this international symposium. It is a joint event of the community of synthetic biologists in Germany and covers a diversity of topics ranging from fundamental research to applications in helath research and biotechnology.

HEiKA is hosting Session 2: Structural Diversty (Monday 9, 1.00 - 3.15 pm)

Structural Diversty will be discussed focussing on Evolution by:

Orkun Soyer – University of Warwick (UK): Evolution as the Designer in Biology: From Cellular Networks to Microbial Communities

Peter Schuster – University of Vienna (Austria): Designing RNA Structures and Funtion. A Toolbox for Synthetic Biology

Thomas Holstein – Heidelberg University (Germany)

Petra Schwille – Max-Planck Institute of Biochemistry, Martinsried (Germany): Reconstituting Protein Pattern and Gradient Formation from the Bottom-Up

Please note that early registration is possible until October 27, 2013. Abstracts undergoing a review procedure for talk selection (short talks (20 min) and lightning talks (5 min)) may be submitted and edited until October 27, 2013. Poster Abstracts may be submitted and edited until November 17, 2013. The conference dinner on December 10 is included in the registration fee.
