Abstract / Summary
In this project, we developed an application for a tablet computer which aims at the cognitive and social activation of users with dementia.
This application provides a memory game with individualized images such as biographic content, sounds and videos for each player. The software creates detailed log files of each game to collect data on the individual behavior and performance during the game. We performed a two-stage evaluation with real users at two different sites. We recorded video data of each session to capture emotional, social, and cognitive changes during the interaction.
Overall, we observed positive effects regarding emotional and social stimulation.
